DuoChat is a web page, not a program. Open it, get connected to one person, and when you close the tab there is nothing left to uninstall.

You need an account with an app store before you can download anything.
You need a browser. You already have one open.
It takes up storage, and it keeps taking it after you stop using it.
Nothing is written to your device that closing the tab does not end.
The permissions you grant stay granted until you go back and revoke them.
Your browser asks for the camera each session, and the ask ends with the tab.
The icon sits on your home screen where anybody who picks up your phone can see it.
There is no icon. There is a tab, and you close it.
Updates, changelogs, and a review page full of strangers arguing.
You always get whatever is live right now, because there is no version to update.
None of this makes apps bad. It makes them a bigger commitment than a conversation with a stranger usually deserves.
The browser version is the whole product, not a preview of one. Everything below runs in the tab:
What you cannot do is filter. Matching is random — you do not pick a gender, a country, or a topic, and neither does anyone else. That is the trade the whole site is built on, and it is why there is nothing to set up before your first duo chat.
Any current browser on a phone, a tablet or a laptop. For a video chat it will ask for the camera and microphone once per session — you can say no and stay on voice or text, and you can change your mind mid-conversation. On a slow connection, dropping to voice usually fixes it faster than reloading.
If the camera does not come on at all, it is almost always the browser's own permission prompt sitting behind another window, or another tab already holding the camera. Closing the other tab and reloading this one clears it. More of that in the FAQ.
One tap, one person, and a tab you can close whenever you want.
